Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Documentation in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and team members. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally, and document activity using site technology. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter theft, unauthorized activity, and other security-related concerns.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and operational concerns, documenting observations and reporting issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Assist with access control, customer and associate interactions, and security-related investigations in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
