Job Description

As a Security Officer Morning Museum of Arts Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and surrounding areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will assist visitors, communicate professionally, report observations, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor visitor flow and observe museum spaces for unusual activity, unattended items, prohibited behaviors, and/or conditions that may require attention.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
