As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time X Ray Screener in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.99 / Hour

• Security Experience (C115):Candidates must have at least one year of relevant security experience. This may include roles in security personnel, law enforcement, or related fields.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in customer service, showcasing their ability to interact effectively with clients and resolve issues promptly.

• X-Ray Screening Experience (B218):Candidates must possess experience in x-ray screening, which includes familiarity with x-ray equipment and protocols, as well as adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and vehicles as required using established access control and screening procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following location-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, warehouse spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
