Job Summary

Sentry Force Security is seeking a dependable, professional, and alert Armed Roving Patrol Security Officer to provide mobile security patrols throughout Norfolk, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have strong observation skills, sound judgment, a professional demeanor, and an excellent driving record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct armed mobile patrols of assigned properties, facilities, and designated areas.

  • Operate a company vehicle safely while performing routine security patrols.

  • Monitor properties for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns.

  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and security-related calls as directed.

  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.

  • Enforce site rules and security procedures professionally.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, clients, and law enforcement when necessary.

  • Maintain a visible security presence and help deter criminal activity.

  • Follow all company policies, post orders, and applicable Virginia DCJS regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Virginia DCJS Armed Security Officer registration.

  • Excellent driving record and a valid driver's license.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly.

  • Previous armed security, patrol, or law enforcement experience preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.

  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.

  • Ability to meet applicable firearms qualification and employer screening requirements.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully complete applicable background checks and any required pre-employment screenings.

  • Must maintain all required security credentials and firearms qualifications.

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of a mobile patrol position.
