Job Description

As a Security Guard Residential Shelter in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelters . As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support residents, visitors, and staff through professional communication and exceptional customer service while responding to concerns and documenting activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and resident activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
