Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer supporting an educational location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and assigned areas; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and assist with visitor direction and campus information.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal supervision and designated site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
