Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Presence in BROOKLYN, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a shelter location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, interact respectfully with residents, visitors, and staff, report concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized visitors and deliveries in accordance with site procedures, and document observations, incidents, and required reports accurately.
• Maintain a professional, trauma-informed presence while supporting a respectful environment for individuals experiencing housing instability.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
